The conclusion is that everything else works but Apple's device. It just means that Apple's software and their drivers do not adapt well in the wild where Windows users could have any software installed. Just because you don't have the problem doesn't make our systems broken. There is just so much noise here where everyone just says its Microsoft's operating system at fault when the simple matter of it is that it is only Apple's device that is broken on those affected. If Apple's MSI file has instructions in its installation package to install the Windows XP driver, then that is what Microsoft Windows Installer engine will do. And in this case, the developer is Apple. The installation package (MSI file) is individually developed by the developer of an application. Microsoft Windows Installer is only a framework for installing applications.
